Stay at the Finca

This charming two story cottage, known as Casa Verde (Green House), is located on a delightful 2.5 acre farm. It is a cozy retreat nestled between the Andes Mountains of Mama Cotacachi and Papa Imbabura with expansive vegetables gardens that our guests are welcome to enjoy. The property also has Amazonian medicinal plants, herb gardens, fruit trees, flowers and the occasional pony. There are four houses at the Finca utilized as residential properties, for volunteer housing, and events.

  • One of our residential houses is reserved for Airbnb guests. Enjoy the farm for a few days, or longer!

  • The Space

    • Casa Verde cottage is light and bright with rustic charm and modern amenities. The cottage includes granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. It is fully stocked for your culinary explorations using organic vegetables that you can pick yourself just outside your doorstep. 

  • The Neighborhood

    • Located in Cotacachi, Imbabura Province, Ecuador.

    • We are in a small indigenous community of La Calera only 5 minutes outside of Cotacachi and 15 minutes from Otavalo. 

    • At the bottom of our farm is a community soccer field and park.

    • We are surrounded by tranquil farm land and nestled between the Andes Mountains of Mama Cotacachi and Papa Imbabura.

  • Guest Access

    • The entire house is entirely yours to enjoy. You will have privacy but we are nearby if you need us.

  • Other Things to Note

    • We are pleased to offer transportation services by our on site driver as follows:

      • Quito Airport: 1.5 hours travel time, $60 one way 

      • Otavalo: 15 minutes travel time, $5 one way

      • Daily Guide Tours available upon request

  • Getting around - It is all up to you!

    • Cotacachi

      • By Foot: If you enjoy walking, Cotacachi and all of its amenities are a short 15 minute walk.

      • By Bicycle: We provide bikes for a pleasant bike ride into Cotacachi, about a 7 minute ride.

      • By Bus: A bus from our property to Cotacachi is 35 cents.

      • By Taxi: 5 minutes, $2.50 one way

        • We have an onsite driver Monday - Friday who may be used if available, $2.50 one way. 

    • Otavalo

      • By Taxi: 15 minutes, $5 one way

      • By Bus: 20 minutes, 35 cents one way 

    • Quito

      • By Taxi: There are several taxi companies in town that will drive to Quito for $70-$100

      • By Bus: 3 hours, $2.50 one way
